Since we’re an international community, we know privacy rules can be tricky—there’s no universal standard. Live Well by Christina (LWbC) is based in Greece, within the EU, so we follow the GDPR to ensure your data stays safe.

In this policy, we’ll explain what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, the legal basis for doing so, and how we work to protect your privacy. Please note, if you follow us on platforms like Instagram or YouTube, they have their own data protection policies that we can’t control. And, while we love food, we also love cookies—digital ones! We’ll outline how we use those here too. Let’s dive into the official privacy policy.

Community Members

The Live Well by Christina (LWbC) community is made up of amazing people from around the world who share a love for living a nourishing and balanced life. When you join our community by signing up for the newsletter, we ask for your name, email address, and country. You may also share additional information with us through emails, contact forms, or social media messages, but please note we do not formally track or store this data. We strongly advise against sending personal medical information.

We collect your data to welcome you to the LWbC community and to send you occasional updates, exclusive recipes, and tips on healthy living. This is done with your consent when you sign up for the newsletter. You can leave the community at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in our emails.

We love hearing from you, whether it’s via email or social media! Emails are typically deleted after we’ve read them, but occasionally we may hold onto them for a short time to ensure we can respond thoughtfully or incorporate your ideas, requests, or recipes into the community.

Comments on our social media platforms will remain visible until you delete them or the platform removes them. If a comment is inappropriate or harmful, we reserve the right to delete it. For more details, please refer to our Terms of Use.

Affiliate Links

In our shop, we share products we personally use or believe in at Live Well by Christina (LWbC). The links provided in the shop redirect you to our trusted partners who resell these items. When you click on an affiliate link and make a purchase, the reseller gives us a small commission as a thank-you for the recommendation. By doing this, you’re helping to support the LWbC community. The partner receives your data when you sign up on their website, and cookies ensure they know the purchase came from a LWbC visitor.

When you purchase a LWbC product, such as an eBook, or eCourses, you become a LWbC customer. At that point, the legal basis changes from consent to a contractual agreement. For our customers, we collect information such as bank account details, delivery information, and purchase history. This data is essential for fulfilling your orders and is stored for our records, as we’re legally required to keep this information for at least 8 years after purchase.

We may also use customer information to improve your experience with us. This means using marketing techniques to provide more personalised and optimal services to our valued customers and community members.

Team Members

Right now, Live Well by Christina (LWbC) is powered by me and my husband, working as a small but passionate team. As we grow, we may expand our team to include employees or freelancers. For team members, we will collect only the data necessary for administration, legal, and tax purposes, following Greek law. This may include names, addresses, company details, contact information, social security numbers, social media account names, photos, bank details, and any content—such as pictures, audio, or videos—created during assignments.

This information will allow you to join the LWbC team, contribute to enriching our community, and enable us to compensate you for your work. The legal basis for this is a contractual agreement. Personal and business files will be stored for at least two years after your role with LWbC ends, while tax-related data will be retained for at least eight years, as required by law. Any content shared or published within the LWbC community or online will remain as part of the LWbC legacy for as long as the community exists.

If you send us your resume to join the team, we will discuss how long you’d like us to keep your information on file. If you prefer not to have it stored, we will delete your email and resume promptly after reviewing it.

Partners

We collaborate with an amazing network of LWbC partners, including affiliates, sponsors, and collaborators. From our partners, we collect only the data required for administration, legal, and tax purposes in accordance with Greek law. This may include names, addresses, company details, contact information, social media account names, photos, bank account numbers, and any content—such as pictures, audio, or videos—created during our collaboration.

This information helps us work together to expand and enrich the LWbC community, making it more vibrant and impactful. The legal basis for this is a contractual agreement. We will retain your business files for at least two years after our partnership ends, while tax-related data will be stored for at least eight years, as required by law. Any content shared or published within the LWbC community or online will remain as part of the LWbC legacy for as long as the community thrives.

Access

Our team members have access to the data we collect and use it to provide you with the best possible service. We share your information with third parties only when necessary for delivering our services. For instance, we use:

Substack, our email and newsletter platform, which handles email distribution and data management. Substack is committed to data privacy and security. For more details, see Substack’s privacy policy.
Google Analytics, as outlined below, to analyse website traffic and optimise your experience.
IT service providers, including hosting services and platforms that collect reviews.
Business partners, such as delivery partners, payroll services (for team members), administrative offices, payment processing agencies, and affiliates that assist LWbC in operations.

For any third party that receives personal data, we establish data processing agreements to ensure your information is handled securely and in compliance with privacy regulations.

Social Media

We use social media channels to provide community info. Mainly YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest. In order to see our social media on these channels, you have to accept their privacy policy. These channels collect a lot of your personal data on their behalf. Note that we are not responsible for such services. These channels do not return personal data to us. We are financially compensated by some channels because of the success and reach of our Community. You as a member financially support us by simply watching our footage, how cool is that.

Other third parties

We are also obliged to share customer information with government authorities in the case of suspicious situations. We will not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for profiling.

Data Storage

We save your information in several databases, and we always use strict safety measures, such as secure socket layer (SSL) technology to protect your data from unauthorized access during transmission. Your information is saved within the European Union or is passed on to countries outside of the European Union, which ensures that your privacy remains protected in the best way possible as officially determined by the EU. Some American parties are registered under the Privacy Shield, which provides sufficient protection. Alternatively, we work with official EU designed model contracts, which are specifically set up to safeguard your privacy.

Your Rights

When it comes to your personal data, we fully respect your rights. You’re entitled to request edits to your details, delete them entirely, or restrict how they’re used. If you’d like to access your personal details (which mainly consist of your name, email address, and part of your IP address) or receive a copy, just let us know via email. We’ll respond with the technical details we have on file.

If you object to the use of your information for marketing purposes or feel your privacy outweighs our interests, let us know, and we’ll review the situation. Need your information transferred to another party? Although we may not have much data on you, we’ll fulfill this GDPR obligation. Simply send us your request, and we’ll take care of it. To ensure it’s really you, we may ask for additional information to verify your identity, particularly for unclear or complex requests.

You also have the right to file a complaint about how we handle your personal data with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

If you decide to leave the LWbC community, know that we’ll miss you. But we’ll honor your decision and remove your details as soon as you unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of every newsletter.

Cookies

We can’t live without cookies, so we obviously collect functional cookies. These cookies help us to give you the best LWbC experience; such as monitoring whether you view our content on your mobile, desktop, or tablet, so we can display the website properly. You do not need to give us permission to serve you these functional cookies.

We also favour analytic cookies. We use Google Analytics and these cookies help us to figure out what our LWbC community desires the most at a certain moment. This helps us to pitch new ideas when the community is waiting for it. We do not collect your individual data for our Analytics. We collect anonymised data such as your region, and how long you have visited the website. We’ve actually made arrangements with Google Analytics that they will also only track your anonymised data. They don’t file your full IP address and don’t send you ads because of your visit to the LWbC online community website. Google is not allowed to share this data with others. You do not need to give us permission to serve you these cookies.

We told you about the use of affiliate links in this privacy statement. The affiliate links use tracking cookies and the shop has a cookie pop-up notification to give you a warning in time. If you don’t use the affiliate links, we do not place any tracking cookies.
